Seeing the Unseen Everyone in her church liked her and whenever she asked for help in any situation, someone would always be there to meet her need. She was an elderly woman that spoke softly and with her sweet personality, drew the compassion of many. At the end of a particular church service, when the pastor was praying for those that came forward with their needs, she got in line. When it was her turn to be prayed for, she quietly told her pastor why she needed prayer. As the pastor was about to lay his hands on her, the Holy Spirit spoke to him and said, “Don’t pray for her.” Although puzzled, the pastor obeyed. He said to the woman, “I cannot pray for you.” With a look of surprise, she said in a firm tone, “I told you I needed prayer.” Again, the pastor said, “I cannot pray for you.” Suddenly, the woman’s countenance changed. Her eyes widened with anger and her face contorted with hatred. She yelled, “I told you to pray for me! Now you do what I say!” She continued yelling and used the vilest profane words. With that, the pastor realized that the Holy Spirit wanted to expose the manipulative spirits that were operating in this woman. The Holy Spirit then said to the pastor, “Okay, now pray for her.” The pastor cast out several spiritsthe demonic spirits that gave her power to manipulate others through the pretense of helplessness and sweetness. Two Churches There was a church that was located in a prosperous city. The membership exceeded 15,000 and the church was designed by the best architect and built with the best materials. Most of the congregation was wealthy and the pastor was blessed with the finest clothing and jewelry. The outreach program was very successful as many came to this church to enjoy its beauty and the lively services. The services were broadcast in many nations, both on television and radio. They rejoiced greatly in all of their blessings. In a different, but also prosperous city, a church was located in an abandoned warehouse. The church had a small number of attendees. They did not produce a television or radio show, nor did they have a sound system. They were outcasts in their city and many were hostile to them. One day, the Father spoke to each of these two churches. To the first church, He said, “I know you and I know your activities. You have enjoyed my blessings, but you have allowed them to occupy your heart. You have become wretched and poor. I am no longer inside your heart. I now stand outside of your heart, but I am knocking on your door. Open the door, let Me in. Seek my riches.” To the second church, He wept. He was greatly moved by their worship and faithfulness to Him. Their hearts were pure before Him and He knew that they would lay down their lives for Him. He said, “Continue to be faithful to Me. Persecution will come to you and even some of you will be killed. But your faithfulness to Me brings great joy to my heart and I will give you the crown of life.” What we see with our physical eyes and what we hear with our physical ears can be the opposite of what our Heavenly Father sees and hears. It is my prayer for you that Father will continue to help you to hear His voice, and more and more frequently.
