Jesus Gave You Prophets, pt.3 Prophets have a reputation of being kind-of different and strange. After all, Isaiah walked around naked for three years as a sign and portent against Egypt and Cush (Isaiah 20). Then there’s Ezekiel. He symbolized the siege of Jerusalem and showed the years of iniquity that led to this judgment by laying on his left side in front of a brick for 390 days (representing Israel’s 390 years of iniquity), and immediately afterwards, he lay on his right side for 40 days (representing Judah’s 40 years of iniquity). And of course, there’s John the Baptist who wore clothing made of camel hair and ate only locusts and honey. How many of us today would gladly accept any of these three guys into our own church? Today’s Prophets There are many people walking the earth today that are called to be prophets. In fact, there are more people alive today with that calling than at any other time in the history of mankind. Many of those called to be a prophet are not saved and are serving the devil. Many that are called to be a prophet are Christians that have no idea of their calling. Some people might have a calling far, far more powerful than those that are currently in the prophetic ministry. Especially in these last days, we must listen to proven prophets. They are able to help us see and understand the things that are happening in the world as well as what God is and will be doing. Prophets are like the eyes of the body, giving us sight and insight into today’s and tomorrow’s spiritual matters. Chuck Pierce prophesied on December 8 and 9, 2003 that “the strongman that has not been found will now be found.” A few days later on December 13, Saddam was arrested. On January 28, 1999, a group of nationally known prophets gathered in Colorado Springs and issued a consensus on Y2K: “Y2K is a minor problem in comparison of what is coming later.” Explaining what is coming later: World War III, temporary Islamic rule in America, bombs in school buses, malls, and stadiums and destructive weather patterns were just some of the disasters predicted in the report. “God will remove His protective covering over America unless we turn the church to righteousness and the nation back to godly ways by the end of the year 2002.”If that prophesy interests you, here is a link to a similar, yet more extensive prophesy http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~revival/warning-usa.html Below is a partial list of men and women that are currently functioning as prophets: David Wilkerson: http://www.davidwilkerson.org/ Chuck Pierce: http://www.glory-of-zion.org/ Bill Hamon: http://bishophamon.org/ Bobby Connor: http://bobbyconner.org/ Jill Austin: http://www.masterpotter.com/ John Paul Jackson: http://www.streamsministries.com/ Kim Clement: http://www.kimclement.com/ White Dove Ministries (Paul Keith & Wanda Davis and Shawn Boltz): http://whitedoveministries.org/ Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders: http://www.jimgoll.com/prophetic_encounters/acpe_home.htm Jim Goll: http://www.jimgoll.com/ Resources: http://www.antioch.org/Prophets.htm http://www.elijahlist.com/ The Prophetic Puzzle Each of us sees through a darkened glass and each of us knows only in part. It is the same with prophets. No one prophet knows and hears everything that God wants to communicate to His people. Some prophets are called to governmental issues, whereas other prophets are called to their local church’s issues. We can learn a lot about what God is saying through his prophets when we listen to many prophets. Each prophet is given a piece of the puzzle, so to speak, and collectively, they create a more complete picture to help God’s people reach whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Tomorrow’s Prophetic Ministry The teaching, preaching, music, worship, and the operation of the five-fold ministries that we see today has greatly matured from just thirty years ago. We can expect today’s prophetic ministry to continue developing as well. We are beginning to see this already, but in the future, this will happen more extensively: prophets will be under investigation and even accused of collaborating with the enemy because God will tell His prophets about the plans of those that would attack our country. I believe that tomorrow’s prophetic ministry will speak with revelation of future events with far greater detail and accuracy. I believe that the body of Christ will have greatly matured their attitude towards prophets and support them like they do today’s pastors and missionaries. I believe that the body of Christ will listen attentively to and heed the words of proven prophets with a much greater interest. And I believe that tomorrow's prophetic voices will deliver multitudes from bondage, while at the same time offend multitudes of sinners like Moses offended the Egyptians. It is my prayer for you that Father will continue to help you to hear His voice, and more and more frequently.
