You might be wondering, “Why is there a section on the prophetic in a website about hearing God’s voice?”

Prophets and those that move in the gift of prophecy must hear directly from God to operate in their gift—hearing (and seeing) from God is their gift. They must be very sensitive to God’s voice and heart. They are also given insight into dreams, visions, and hidden speech. Understanding their gift and how they operate in the gift can help anyone to hear God’s voice too.

A very important point to remember is that all Christians can prophesy. In fact, we are told covet (“to burn with zeal”—Strong’s) to prophesy. Every one of us (and that includes you!) is told to desire to prophesy. And when God tells us to ask for something, it’s because He wants to give it! So, you have more of a connection with prophets and the prophetic than you may have realized!
