| DREAMS
Dreams are one of God's primary methods of communicating with people. This was clearly understood in Old Testament times (even by heathen kings!) as well as under the new covenant. Dreams can originate from God, our soul, and Satan. This section of the website deals only with dreams given by God. A dream from God will always agree with His Word, bring glory to Him, and help to accomplish His purpose. Acts 2:17 says, `In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Job 33:1418 says, For God does speaknow one way, now anotherthough man may not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men as they slumber in their beds, he may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, to turn man from wrongdoing and keep him from pride, to preserve his soul from the pit, his life from perishing by the sword. The Bible clearly teaches that God speaks to people in their dreams. Learning to recall your dreams and interpret them will open an additional avenue for you to hear from God. During sleep, your mind is in a passive state and can more easily receive things that God wants you to know. While there is no set formula for interpreting dreams, there are many guidelines and suggestions to help you get started. First and foremost, you should ask Father to give you the understanding. Daniel was the Bible’s most notable dream interpreter and he relied on God for the interpretation (Daniel 1:17, 5:12). How important is it that we understand and heed the dreams that God gives us? Our Savior’s birth and His very early years were surrounded with warnings and directions that were given to several people in dreams. Think of it this way for example, what would have happened had the following people not followed the directions given in a dream:
Dreams can be very simple and direct (Genesis 20:37). This kind of dream is given when urgent action is needed. Dreams can also be very puzzling and require divine interpretation (Daniel 7:112). No matter how difficult it is to receive the interpretation, always remember: It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings (Proverbs 25:2).
